10 Kids Friendly Events Ahead of Children's Day

Tony-nominated Songshan Shaolin KungFu Show group will present this Chinese martial arts show for kids and families that love Kung Fu. This is a performance event that integrates kung fu, dance, music, and drama from the perspective of kids. The show is 70 minutes long including a 10-minute interaction segment.

The modern dance performance "Play" is set to make its Asian debut in Shanghai on Children's Day. This dance is a collaborative production between the Spanish modern dance group Aracaladanza and the Shanghai Children's Art Theatre. As one of the world's leading groups dedicated to creating and performing modern dance specifically for children, Aracaladanza has presented a series of outstanding works. In 2018, the Shanghai Children's Art Theatre was invited to join as a co-producer of "Play." At the 23rd Premio MAX, "Play" stood out among 359 performances to win the Best Costume Design Award, Best Original Music Award, and Best Lighting Design Award, making it the only production to receive three awards among all winners. This performance is recommended for ages four and up, lasting about 55 minutes.

Welcome the new interactive children’s exhibit “Windmill” at the West Bund Museum on Children’s Day! The museum will opening their new child focused exhibit in their interactive room and hosting a series of DIY art activities for kids to sign up for. Parents are encouraged to stay with their kids during the event at the exhibit but can enjoy a full day of art, food and drinks available at the museum cafe and access to the gorgeous West Bund walkway! Recommend for ages 5 years old to 12 years old.

Tatsuya Miyanishi's World of Wonder is the first large-scale solo exhibition of picture book art master Miyoshi Tatsuya, who has nearly hundreds of millions of readers across all age groups worldwide. It covers an area of 1000 square meters, with 57 painting works and over 200 precious manuscripts and paintings. This exhibition involves over 100 cartoon characters from Tatsuya Miyanishi's picture books. The exhibition is on the 3rd floor of Hopson One Mall.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit based on the hilarious movie starring Jack Black is set to rock out at New Bund 31 Theatre. This irresistible new musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a supply teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping mind-blowing rock band. With a new score from Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Glenn Slater, book by Julian Fellowes and an incredible cast of kids shredding guitars, pounding drums and rocking out live, School of Rock will test your head, and your mind, and your brain too.
