Held at Bund 33, the opening of the ART SHANGHAI European National Treasures Exhibition marked the first presentation of the century-long epic of Italian fashion in China. From the 1900s to the present day, this exhibition showcases over 100 national treasures of Italian fashion, including garments, manuscripts, documents, and images, making their debut in China. It also features more than 20 designers who have played pivotal roles in Italian fashion. BEAUTY CHANGES: 100 Years of Italian Fashion and Costume, supported by the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, the Italian Cultural Institute of Shanghai, features over a hundred valuable exhibits of national treasures, including authenic garments, original sketches, magazines, images and videos. The 12 spaces of Bund 33 are designed as theatrical stages that showcase the works of over 20 internationally acclaimed fashion designers,such as Maria Monaci Gallenga, the first Italian modern fashion "godmother" to walk the world stage; Emolio Schuberth, one of the founders of Italian high fashion, who introduced the Italian aestheic to Hollywood; the Sorelle Fontana, the taste-makers who worked to set the fashion trends during the golden age of Hollywood; Emilio Pucci, the "Prince of Prints"; Giorgio Armani, the founder of Armani; and Valentino Garavani, the founder of Valentino.
