About

This exhibition marks the debut solo show of Iranian artist Mehdi Ghadyanloo, featuring 18 pieces, including 12 new creations of canvas oil paintings and paper watercolors. Ghadyanloo was born in Karaj, a city in northern Iran. Growing up amidst tumultuous times of war, he recounts his father's involvement on the front lines. This backdrop planted in Ghadyanloo's heart a yearning for a better life. Over the past two decades, Ghadyanloo has created over a hundred public murals solely in Tehran, scattered throughout the city. In 2016, he crafted a large-scale mural in Boston's Rose Kennedy Greenway, becoming the first Iranian artist commissioned by both the US and Iran since the 1979 Iranian Revolution.
