Zhujiajiao Ancient Town is located in Qingpu District of Shanghai, with a core area of 3.08 square kilometers. It is the best preserved ancient town in Jiangnan. In 1991, it was listed as one of the four tops ancient towns in Shanghai.
Zhujiajiao Water Village is rich in tourism resources. The ancient town has developed and opened more than 20 scenic spots, such as the Kezhi Garden and the Qing Dynasty Post Office. In 2007, Zhujiajiao Ancient Town was selected for the third batch of famous history and culture towns in China.
The town is crisscrossed with numerous historic sites, nine old streets, hundreds of old buildings, and 36 stone bridges. Numerous bridges are a major feature of the Zhujiajiao Water Town, including multi span and single span bridges, stone and wooden bridges, arched and flat bridges, etc.
Zhujiajiao Fangsheng Bridge is the most popular landmark building for tourists. With a total length of 70 meters, Fangsheng Bridge is the longest five-hole stone arch bridge in Shanghai and is known as "the first bridge in Shanghai". Zhujiajiao Kezhi Garden is the largest garden building in the town, commonly known as the "Majia Garden". Kezhi Garden was founded in 1912 and covers an area of 64,000 square meters. The owner of the garden, Ma Wenqing, took 15 years and spent more than 300,000 taels of silver to build it.
Kezhi Garden combines the essence of Jiangnan gardens, and also integrates Chinese architectural art with Western architectural culture. When designing the Kezhi Garden, it drew on the Jiuqu Bridge of the Yu Garden in Shanghai and the Lion Pavilion in the Suzhou Lion Grove Garden, which can be comparable to the ancient Yiyuan in Shanghai.

The Peony Pavilion is a famous China Kun Qu Opera that has been celebrated for more than 400 years. Its theme is the love story of Oriental Romanticism. The Peony Pavilion was premiered during the Shanghai World Expo in June 2010. It's refreshing to perform in a real garden.

The old site of the Qing Dynasty Post Office is one of the business cards of Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, and the only Great Qing Imperial Post Office preserved in East China. The Zhujiajiao Qing Dynasty Post Office was founded in 1903, covering an area of 156 square meters and a two-story building modeled after the European style.
The first floor of the Zhujiajiao Qing Dynasty Post Office is the layout of the post office in the past, while the second floor exhibition hall is mainly about the development of ancient and modern postal services. Tourists can wear the clothes of a Qing Dynasty postman and experience the feeling of being a Qing Dynasty postman.
